McQueen for Target

I'm currently
holding mixed feelings towards the new McQ line for Target. I'm all for affordable fashion, but juxtaposed to the Vera Wang collection that debuted in September 2007 for Kohls, I'm preparing myself for much disappointment. Simply Vera tried to appeal to the 18-late 40s demographic, working with an age group that large produced an awkward line with pieces that didn't seem to blend well with one another. While I can side with designers who turn to mass retailers like H&M, distributing with a company like Target seems more brand sans chic. I feel this could tarnish the sacred name of McQueen, I myself never looked at a Vera Wang wedding gown with the same awe as I did before her Simply Vera line.
In a recent phone interview Queen states: "“We’d always been approached by people like H&M and other high street [retailers] in England to do things... I’m not very fond of following the norm. I didn’t want to follow Stella [McCartney] at H&M or Karl Lagerfeld at H&M. I didn’t see the point of it. I like to infiltrate an area that’s not really aware of me, as such.”

best of luck.
